Florence – After a year of surreal and nonsensical horoscopes published in Florence’s Lungarno magazine, illustrator and painter Diego Gabriele transforms his imaginative universe into a capsule collection of unique T-shirts: “Horoscopes for Monsters and Acquaintances”.
This collection is not limited to the classic twelve signs of the zodiac, but is enriched with seven new signs, children of an alternative and visionary astrology. Alongside Gemini, Scorpio and Capricorn, there appear the Doorstop, Albert, the Toaster, Ophiuchus, Sirius the Dragon, Chewbacca and the Tinkerbell. An unusual astral pantheon that mixes irony, surrealism and a touch of mysticism.
The T-shirts, available exclusively on Diego Gabriele’s e-commerce(www.diegogabriele.it), are made of 100% organic cotton and printed on demand through the Printful service, with production centres located in various parts of the world to reduce environmental impact.
The designs, made with felt-tip pens, reflect the unmistakable style of Diego Gabriele, an artist who has exhibited in New York, Berlin, Paris, Tokyo and Milan, collaborating with fashion brands and publishing houses, including Lo Scarabeo Edizioni for the Disorder Tarot of Innocence deck. Despite his experiences with companies and publishers, Gabriele remains deeply attached toself-publishing, a legacy of his experience in independent publishing and the world of artistic subcultures.
