As of 10 January, the winning works of the 15th Florence Biennale will be the protagonists of an exhibition hosted by theAccademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence, confirming and renewing a high-profile collaboration launched in 2021 between the Florence Biennale and the world’s oldest art academy.
This synergy represents an important opportunity for the enhancement of contemporary art and design, offering the artists and designers awarded in the competitions for the ‘Lorenzo il Magnifico’ (art) and ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ (design) awards – assigned by the Florence Biennale’s International Jury – the chance to exhibit their works in an extraordinarily prestigious context.
In continuity with the previous editions, also for the 15th Florence Biennale the winners of the first prizes in the various competing disciplines – from drawing to painting, from sculpture to photography, from digital art to video art and design – will be brought together in an exhibition set up in the Sala delle Esposizioni of the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno, overlooking Piazza San Marco and part of the architectural complex that also houses the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze.
The artists on show are: Ella Baudinet, Marek Błażucki, Paola de Dominicis, Chen Gang, Michelle Gialanze, Jef Horvers, Luxarti, Mister Geez, Maria Pavlovska, Ramona Russu, Mia Segaert, Sue Schroeder, Stephanie Wallendjack, Wang Yiran , and Toria Ya Tuo. Alongside the winners, the exhibition will see the participation, as Guests of Honour, of Gabriel Isak, Andrea Prandi, Emily Young, and Liku Maria Takahashi, leading figures on the international contemporary art scene.
