The Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation and the Venice Civic Museums Foundation announcethe opening of calls for applications for the Atelier 2026–2027 programme and for the selection of the curator who will support the training programme for the selected young artists. The Atelier programmein Venice is one of the most significant long-standing initiatives supporting young contemporary creativity in Italy and has, for over a century, been a fundamental tool for supporting and guiding the professional development of new generations of artists. For the 2026–2027 edition, a total of 25 artist studios will be allocated: fifteen by the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation, in the historic centre of Veniceat the Complesso dei Santi Cosma e Damiano on the Giudecca and Palazzo Carminati in San Stae, andten in Mestre at the Emeroteca dell’Arte, thanks to the collaboration with the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia. The spaces will be allocated to emerging artists aged between 18 and 30 who are resident in the Veneto region or domiciled in the Metropolitan City of Venice, who will be able to develop their artistic practice within a context of professional exchange and creative growth from November 2026 to October 2027.
Alongside the call for applications for the studios,a noticeis also being publishedto recruit a curatorto oversee the 2026–2027 residency programme, a central element of the support and training framework that characterises the entire project. The selected curator will be responsible for supporting the artists in their professional development, coordinating mentoring activities, public events, open studios and the planning of the final exhibition, which will present the outcomes of the residency experience to the public.
