Milan, 14 April 2025 – From 7 to 19 May 2025, Spazio HUS in Milan will host the solo exhibition “Labyrinths”, featuring a selection of works by Michele Gallo, a visual artist with a strong graphic sensibility, who pursues an abstract research focused on the evocative power of the sign. In his graphic labyrinths, drawing becomes a territory to explore, a perceptive challenge that stimulates the viewer to immerse himself in the visual play of forms.
The exhibition is proposed as a visual and mental journey that explores the concept of labyrinth through sign: a journey into the complexity of perception, through a dense web of signs, intricate paths, uncertain directions, structures that break down and recompose, giving rise to disorienting visual compositions, similar to imaginary maps or reflections of thought and emotion.
Through a refined use of Indian ink on paper, in black and white and in colour, the artist leads us into a graphic universe dominated by the tension between order and chaos, between control and instinct, in a dynamic balance between rigorous gesture and spontaneous flow, between compositional exactitude and expressive freedom.
The artist constructs graphic universes in which the visitor gets lost and finds himself again, as if he were passing through a symbolic labyrinth: the apparent chaos becomes a hidden code, a visual path that invites the observer to immerse himself in a contemplative, almost hypnotic experience.
Since antiquity, the labyrinth has been a symbol of knowledge and challenge, of research and limitation, becoming a metaphor for the human experience: from the epic Labyrinth of Knossos, built by Daedalus to imprison the Minotaur, to the labyrinths of contemporary times, emblems of urban alienation, the fragmentation of identity and the infinite possibilities of the mind. In literature and cinema, from Borges to Kubrick, the labyrinth is a mental and philosophical space, a construction that challenges perception.
In Michele Gallo’s works, the labyrinth becomes a contemporary metaphor: an expression of the complexity of our time and a visual representation of our inner labyrinth, made up of choices, paths and unexpected digressions.
The viewer may decide to lose himself in these twists and turns, searching for meaning and a way out, or perhaps he is simply invited to abandon himself to the allure of uncertainty.

Michele Gallo, born in Amsterdam in 1964, lives and works in Milan.
Michele is a visual artist whose creative universe revolves around graphic design, in particular the skilful use of Indian ink on paper. His artistic practice is characterised by a constant tension between control and instinct, between precise gesture and spontaneous flow.
His passion for music, cinema and reading constantly feed his artistic inspiration and nourish his imagination, enriching his visual vocabulary with symbolic and evocative elements.
Throughout his career, he has gained extensive experience in various professional fields, from business to management, developing organisational, communication and administrative skills.
At the same time, he continued to cultivate his passion for art, experimenting and refining drawing techniques and moving increasingly towards abstraction. Working in dynamic sectors has enabled him to acquire a broad vision of managing professional relationships, skills that also enrich his artistic approach.
His creative research is constantly evolving, always oriented towards the exploration of new artistic expressions and the representation of ideas and emotions through drawing.
