Call for entries open for the 108th Young Artists’ Collective

The call for entries is now online for the 108th Young Artists Collective at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation, the historic event dedicated to the discovery and promotion of emerging contemporary art.

Aimed at artists under 30 who live or have chosen to live in the Triveneto area, the Collective is open to all contemporary languages – painting, sculpture, installation, video, performance and process practices – and includes a specific section devoted to the competition for the event’s graphic image.

For the second year running, the initiative is an integral part of CreArt 3.0 #stringing_together, a project funded within the framework of the Creative Europe Programme. Thanks to this international network, the selected artists enter a circuit involving 13 European cities, fostering the exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of contemporary art.

The candidate works will be evaluated by a jury appointed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors and selected to be exhibited in the 108th Collective Exhibition, scheduled to coincide with the Biennale Arte 2026 (5 May – 28 June), at the Sala del Camino of the monumental complex of SS. Cosma e Damiano alla Giudecca. The complex, the creative hub of the city of Venice, hosts one of the three institutional venues of the Fondazione and 9 of the 15 Atelier d’Artista, in dialogue with other cultural realities active in the area, including CTR – Centro Teatrale di Ricerca, Pantakin Circoteatro (PTK), the Compagnia de Calza “I Antichi” and the Fondazione Archivio Luigi Nono, which enrich the cloister with their own research and cultural production activities.

A dedicated section of the call for entries concerns theconception and realisation of the graphic image of the 108th Collective: a professional opportunity for young creatives that includes a prize of 1,000 euros and the assignment of the coordinated image of the event. The selected project will be featured on all communication materials, both digital and printed – invitations, catalogue, playbills and posters – guaranteeing wide visibility.

Participating artists are involved in the entire exhibition process: from the presentation of the work to the selection, to the set-up and realisation of the catalogue. The works are presented and evaluated live in the presence of the jury and the curatorial staff of the Foundation, preserving a direct and real dialogue already at the application stage. This moment of confrontation represents a distinctive element of the Collective, which maintains a concrete and relational dimension in the relationship between artists and Institution. Lastly, the publication that accompanies each edition constitutes an important documentary tool and contributes to the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation’s historic series of publications which, from 1908 to the present day, has been an indispensable resource for research into contemporary art.

The winning works will become part of the Bevilacqua La Masa Collection, recognised by the Ministry of Culture – Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity.

Participation in the competition is free of charge. The application must be submitted by Monday 16 March, at 11.00 a.m., by sending the form that can be downloaded from the website www.bevilacqualamasa.it
